How to learn the badminton Serve Shot

1. Define the Serve

The serve is the shot that when starts a game serve to your opponent. Your opponent cannot move until you serve the shuttlecock over. Your partner and you need to be kept separated when you are serving the shuttlecock and the opponent will be the same.

That makes it vitally important to learn how to serve correctly if you want to be successful in badminton. Some player who plays doubles can miss their serve shot 5 to 6 points in just 21 points game. This is really not acceptable, this is the reason why we keep mentioning that serve-shot badminton training is important for every player.

2. Understand the Badminton Serve Shot Score

When you understand the services in badminton training, it can help you improve your confidence. For example, for odd points scores at 1,3,5,7, and 9 you should stand on your left-hand box of the court. And when scoring at even numbers 4, 6, 8, and 10 you should stand on the right-hand side of your court.

3. Master the Badminton Serve Shot

No matter if you are a single or doubles player, you have to master the serve shot during badminton training. Why? The serve shot is the start of the game if you start and then mistake. This will kill you and your partner’s confidence leading to losing the game. Below are a few steps to help you serve in a simple way.

Step 1

Grip the racket tightly in your dominant hand with your index finger extended along the top of the frame.

Step 2

Place your non-dominant hand palm-up under the racket handle, and rest the bottom of the handle on your wrist.

Step 3

Hold the shuttlecock by its feathers between your thumb and middle finger, and rest it on top of your racket strings. The base of the shuttlecock should be pointing toward your dominant shoulder.

Step 4

Bring your racket back behind you, and then swing it forwards and up over your head. As you do so, release the shuttlecock from between your thumb and middle finger.

Step 5

Hit the shuttlecock with an overhand stroke as it reaches its peak height. Make sure to hit it near the bottom of the cork, and snap your wrists as you make contact with the shuttlecock for added power.

Step 6

Follow through with your stroke after making contact with the shuttlecock, and end up in a ready position with your weight balanced on both feet.

4. Develop a Badminton Serve Shot Specific Game Plan

Developing a plan will help you to win the game easily. To make your service shot more effective, you must know what you are aiming at. When you are facing your opponent, you need to think about where your serve shot to before you hit the shuttlecock.

If you have any thoughts about the service that you are about, hint your partner and he can back you up. A good way to make your service more effective is to practice the serve-specific game plan and understand what you are doing.

5. Build Your Serve Shot

6. Practice Badminton Serve more

Practice serving shot in badminton training is important for your casual game. Most casual players when they join a group like Meetup or some Facebook group age, they don’t know each other. So when you lack practice in badminton serve, and you always mistake, it might cause your partner to dislike you. Or you will misunderstand your partner got an attitude problem don’t like your mistake.

But to be honest, not only you, to normal player play for fun, they also have to learn the serve shot in badminton training before they start to play a casual game. Why? Imagine if you miss 3 serve shots and your partner 5, so sum up is 8 mistakes in serve shots. Not even start to play the rally and end it already, not worth right? 7. Practice Badminton Serve more

You must know how to threaten the opponent and make him scared of your serve shot. Why? If the opponent knows where you want to serve, he can get ready faster and move forward against your shot. Your partner will have difficulty returning the shuttlecock, so the best way is to plan yours with your partner your strategy.
