Website Terms & Training Policy
These terms and policies explain the rules for using our website and enrolling in our badminton training programmes. They apply to all website visitors, parents, guardians, and students of ST Badminton Academy Malaysia (STBA) in Kuala Lumpur, Setapak, and Wangsa Maju.
Last Updated: November 2025
These Terms & Conditions and Training Policies apply to everyone who uses our website or our badminton training services in Malaysia. This includes website visitors, parents or guardians, and adult learners, particularly those in Kuala Lumpur and nearby areas like Setapak, Wangsa Maju, and Gombak. By visiting our site, submitting an application, or making a payment, you agree to follow these rules.
Here are some simple definitions for terms we use:
- “Website” refers to all pages on stbadmintonacademy.my.
- “Private Training (1-to-1)” is a session with one coach and one student.
- “Small-Pair (2 Students)” is a session with one coach and two students.
- “Group (4 Students)” is our standard small group class with one coach and up to four students.
- “Assessment” is a review of a student’s skills, which may include practical and theory tests.
- “Venue” means the badminton court or facility in the Kuala Lumpur area where training takes place.
- “Fees” are the charges for our training programmes.
Please use our website responsibly and respectfully. You agree not to use the site to engage in harassment, impersonate others, post illegal content, or use automated tools for spam. ST Badminton Academy Malaysia reserves the right to suspend access or remove content that violates these conduct rules.
All content on this website, including text, logos, photos, and code, belongs to ST Badminton Academy Malaysia or our partners. You may view and use this content for your personal, non-commercial use only. You must not copy, sell, or modify any content without our written permission. Using our name or logo without consent is not allowed.
We provide the website “as-is.” While we do our best to keep all information accurate and up-to-date, we cannot promise it will always be free of errors. We also cannot guarantee the website will be available 24/7 or be completely free of viruses, although we take reasonable steps to ensure its safety.
To the extent permitted by law, STBA is not liable for indirect or consequential losses related to your use of this website. However, nothing in these terms removes or reduces any basic consumer rights you are entitled to under Malaysian law.
Submitting an application form does not guarantee a spot in our training programmes. A place is only confirmed after we have reviewed the application and you have received a formal confirmation from our admin team. If a class is full, we may offer to place you on a waitlist, but we cannot guarantee when a spot will become available. Existing students will be given priority for re-enrolment in the following term.
Training fees are due before the start of each month or term, and must be paid in full to secure your slot. We accept payment via bank transfer and other specified methods. Late payments may result in an administrative fee and potential suspension from training. Any changes to fees will be communicated with at least one month’s notice. All fees are non-refundable, except where required by Malaysian law. We do not offer credits or refunds for missed classes.
Make-up classes are not guaranteed. To be considered for a make-up class, you must provide at least 7 days’ notice for a planned absence. For medical absences, a valid doctor’s note is required. We do not hold classes on national public holidays in Kuala Lumpur; these sessions will be rescheduled. If a class is cancelled due to venue issues or severe weather, we will arrange a replacement session.
Yes, training schedules and venues in Kuala Lumpur (including Setapak, Wangsa Maju, and the Jalan Genting Klang area) are subject to change based on court availability and other operational factors. We will always provide reasonable notice for any planned changes. We are not responsible for cancellations due to events beyond our control (e.g., sudden court closures, government restrictions, or extreme weather).
While we appreciate preferences, we cannot guarantee a specific coach for any class. Coach assignments are based on availability, scheduling, and student levels. To maintain quality and safety, STBA may also merge or split groups as needed, while keeping our typical ratios of 1-to-1 for private, 2 for a pair, and up to 4 for a small group.
To ensure a safe and productive environment, all students must:
- Arrive on time for every class.
- Wear appropriate sportswear and non-marking indoor court shoes.
- Bring their own racket, water bottle, and towel.
- Follow all instructions from the coach promptly and safely.
- Show respect to coaches, other players, and the venue. Disruptive or unsafe behaviour is not permitted.
Please note that we do not offer free “trial classes.”
All sports, including badminton, have a risk of injury. By participating, you acknowledge and accept these risks. Our coaches enforce safety practices like proper warm-ups and hydration. By enrolling, you provide indemnity (a promise not to hold us responsible for injury or loss) to STBA and its staff. You also consent for us to provide basic first aid and contact your emergency contact if necessary.
